Bio: 

Bonnie Jill Emanuel is the author of Glitter City (Cornerstone, 2024). Her poems and interviews most recently appear in The American Poetry Review, Colorado Review, Pine Hills Review, RHINO,  and more.   Emanuel earned an MFA from The City College of New York where she received the Jerome Lowell DeJur Award in Creative Writing and the Stark Poetry Prize. She was named a finalist in the Frontier Poetry 2024 Ekphrastic Contest and for the RHINO 2025 Founders Prize for poems from her newest body of work. Born in Detroit, she lives in New York.   She is a longtime poetry previewer for Bellevue Literary Review.

Jerome Lowell DeJur Award in Creative Writing, City College of New York.

 

Finalist in the 2020 and 2021 Slapering Hol Press, Swan Scythe Press, and Two Sylvias Press chapbook contests, the 2021 Frost Place Chapbook Fellowship, and the 2022 Sundress Publications Chapbook Contest.

 

Finalist for the 2021 Off The Grid Prize (GRID BOOKS) for a full-length collection, 2021 Gerald Cable Book Award (SILVERFISH REVIEW PRESS), 2022 Hilary Tham Capital Collection Award (WORD WORKS), and the 2022 Idaho Prize for Poetry (LOST HORSE PRESS).

 

"Prayer Down Depot Road" was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. 

"Colors Of A Roadhouse Porch" was nominated for Best Of The Net.

"Still Life With Vincent" was long listed for the 2023 Frontier Poetry Ekphrastic Prize.
