Editorial Focus

The Stonecoast Review is a literary arts journal edited by alumni and students from University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast MFA Program in Creative Writing. It welcomes creative nonfiction, fiction (literary, general, and pop/genre), dramatic works, poetry, and visual arts (printed in black and white, except cover pieces). The editorial staff of Stonecoast Review seeks exciting work from both new and established writers, and especially traditionally marginalized voices.

Tips From the Editor

Our readers, as alumni and students of the Stonecoast MFA, are highly commited to anti-racist literature and publishing practices. Please tell us a little bit about yourself in your cover letter, not just where you’ve been published. We are willing to work with deserving voices and high-potential pieces to help get them over the finishing line and published. Publishing someone for the first time is an exciting thing for us!
