Author's Bio

Stephen Danos is a vegan and author of three chapbooks, including Missing Slides (Horse Less Press). In 2024, his full-length poetry manuscript Crowd Noise was selected by Matthew Rohrer as runner-up for Tupelo Press' Berkshire Prize. Another full-length poetry manuscript, No Carnivorous Animal, was recognized by Cleveland State University Poetry Center's editors for their 2023/24 Lighthouse Poetry Series.

In 2023, Crowd Noise was also a finalist for Tupelo Press' Helena Whitehill Book Award. His writing has appeared or will appear in Afternoon VisitorBoston Review, DIAGRAM, Fence, Northwest Review, Pleiades, Poetry Is Currency, Sprung Formal, TAMMY, and other places. 

He earned a BA in English from the University of Iowa and an MFA in Creative Writing - Poetry from Columbia College Chicago. In 2012 he co-founded Pinwheel, an online literary and art publication, and served as Editor in Chief through 2018. He lives in Portland, Oregon.

In 2024, Stephen's full-length poetry manuscript Crowd Noise was selected by Matthew Rohrer as runner-up for Tupelo Press' Berkshire Prize. His full-length poetry manuscript No Carnivorous Animal was listed by Cleveland State University Poetry Center for the 2023/2024 Lightouse Poetry Series as a manuscript the editors loved.

In 2023, Crowd Noise was a finalist for Tupelo Press' Berkshire Prize and the Helena Whitehill Book Award.
