Stephen Danos is a vegan and author of three chapbooks, including Missing Slides (Horse Less Press). In 2024, his full-length poetry manuscript Crowd Noise was selected by Matthew Rohrer as runner-up for Tupelo Press' Berkshire Prize. Another full-length poetry manuscript, No Carnivorous Animal, was recognized by Cleveland State University Poetry Center's editors for their 2023/24 Lighthouse Poetry Series.

In 2023, Crowd Noise was also a finalist for Tupelo Press' Helena Whitehill Book Award. His writing has appeared or will appear in Boston Review, Fence, Northwest Review, Pleiades, TAMMY, and other places. 

He earned a BA in English from the University of Iowa and an MFA in Creative Writing - Poetry from Columbia College Chicago. In 2012 he co-founded Pinwheel, an online literary and art publication, and served as Editor in Chief through 2018. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
