Author's Bio

Ruben Quesada is the author of Brutal Companion, winner of the Barrow Street Poetry Prize, 2023 Editors’ Choice. Dr. Quesada edited the IPPY Gold Medal Award-winning anthology Latinx Poetics: Essays on the Art of Poetry (University of New Mexico Press). His poetry and prose appear in The New York Times Magazine, Poetry Northwest, Lambda Literary Review, Southern Humanities Review, Harvard Review and elsewhere. A former board member of the National Book Critics Circle, he is now a Teaching Fellow at the Attic Institute of Arts & Letters. He teaches poetry and literature at Columbia College Chicago, Antioch University’s low-residency MFA in Creative Writing program and the Pan-European MFA Program in Creative Writing.
