I am the author of the bestselling novel, The Shape of What Remains (released February 18, 2025). It is a story about one woman's journey through long grief and I was on a book tour that finished in June. I'll be offering workshops in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. If you'd like me to visit your hometown, contact me. My travel schedule is on my web site under events. I also love book clubs and have discussion questions.
Creativity is an antidote to despondancy. My workshops and mentoring relationships are spontaneous and fluid. I help writers and would-be writers to become better observers. After decades of working with children and adults in both an arts high school and a university, I've developed many unique strategies. I'm happy to work with seniors, adults, teens, children, and educators, and I can travel for readings or workshops, particularly anywhere near the ocean. My second collection of fiction, Impossibly Small Spaces was published in summer of 2018. I have five published collections of poetry, including the collection, Interrogation of Morning (2022) and two chapbooks. I publish in both Ireland and the United States and have done many events for Irish-American groups, libraries, community centers, senior centers, high schools, and private schools. I started teaching for writers.com online during Covid and I offer both poetry and fiction classes for writers of all levels. I can be contacted through my web site www.lisactaylor.com and I'm on all social media except Twitter. I am the co-director of the Mesa Verde Writers Conference www.mesaverdewritersconference.org and there was a very successful new Mesa Verde Literary Festival this year in Mancos, Colorado. Over 50 writers from around the country joined us to offer panels, workshops, and readings hosted by local businesses in our artsy downtown area. There were two keynote speakers, Tim Weed and Pam Houston. All events were free. July is a The conference fills up quickly so register early if you are interested. Dates for next year will be set by January 2026. All faculty are available to attendees for the two and a half days of the conference. Workshops do not run concurrently so all registered students can attend everything. Questions can be directed to mesaverdewriters@gmail.com
