Author's Bio

Laura Nagle, a 2020 ALTA Travel Fellow, is a translator and writer based in Indianapolis. Her translations of prose and poetry from French and Spanish have appeared in journals including The Southern Review, AGNI, ANMLY, Circumference, and The Los Angeles Review. Songs for the Gusle, her translation of Prosper Mérimée's 1827 hoax, La Guzla, was published in 2023 by Frayed Edge Press, and Confidences, the 1913 novel by Bolivian feminist poet Adela Zamudio, is forthcoming in her translation from Bucknell University Press in 2026. Her short fiction has recently appeared in The Common, North American Review, and Stanchion, was shortlisted for the 2024 Welkin Prize, and won third place in The Sunlight Press Flash Fiction Contest in 2025.
