Author's Bio

Kelly Jones currently lives in Durham, NC and works at the Literacy Center doing Adult Education and Volunteer Management.

She has an MFA from the University of New Orleans' Creative Writing Workshop and a BA in Literature & Social Justice from Antioch University Seattle.

Over the years she has tended bar, waited tables, worked the front-desk and special events at Hugo House, served as assistant editor for Knock Magazine, led reuse art projects with the Scrap Exchange, worked in the youth services department of a public library, taught and tutored college students, ghost-written the internet, starred in a rock-opera version of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, lived in a museum for 4 months, and co-founded the Pizza Poetry Project.

Her resolution for 2016 was to only submit to journals and presses with awesome names and to pay absolutely nothing while doing so. Thus far, the experiment seems to be going well; she's got poems coming out soon with BOAAT, Rat's Ass Review, Thank You For Swallowing, and No Assholes. And her first chapbook is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.
