Author's Bio

Carolina Hotchandani is a South Asian/South American poet born in Brazil and raised in various parts of the United States. Her debut poetry collection The Book Eaters won the 2023 Perugia Press Prize for first and second poetry books, a 2024 Nebraska Poetry Award, and was one of ten debut poetry collections featured in Poets & Writers 2024 Debut Poets Issue. She holds degrees from Brown, Texas State, and Northwestern universities and has received scholarships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Community of Writers, Napa Valley Writers’ Conference, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, and Tin House Writers’ Workshop. Her poetry has appeared in The Atlantic, AdroitAGNIAlaska Quarterly ReviewBeloit Poetry JournalBlackbirdCincinnati ReviewCopper Nickel, Missouri ReviewPrairie Schooner, and other journals.
