Blake Kimzey

Author's Bio

Blake Kimzey is a 2014 graduate of the MFA Programs In Writing at UC Irvine and is the recipient of a generous Emerging Writer Grant from The Elizabeth George Foundation. His work has been broadcast on NPR and published by Tin House, McSweeney's, Green Mountains Review, Redivider, The Lifted Brow, FiveChapters, Hobart, Puerto del Sol, The Los Angeles Review, Short Fiction, Mid-American Review, PANK, Booth, Fiction Southeast, The Masters Review, Juked, Keyhole, Monkeybicycle, Surreal South '13, and selected by Pulitzer Prize-winner Robert Olen Butler for inclusion in The Best Small Fictions 2015 Anthology. Blake's chapbook of short tales, Families Among Us (an indie bestseller), won the 2013 Black River Chapbook Competition and was published by Black Lawrence Press in September 2014. He recently (winter 2016) completed his first novel and a full-length collection of stories, and currently teaches creative writing at The University of Texas at Dallas.
