Editorial Focus

Red River Review is a digital literary journal founded in 1999 and relaunched in 2025. Rooted in poetry, it also now publishes short stories, creative essays, and visual art. The journal seeks thoughtful, resonant work and is committed to creative exchange, community engagement, and supporting emerging and established voices.

Tips From the Editor

We’re drawn to work that lingers—poems, stories, essays, and art that are emotionally resonant and thoughtfully crafted, expanding the possibilities of language, form, and how we see the world. We welcome work that lives where place, memory (personal and collective), identity, and lived experience converge. Visual and digital submissions should evoke story, atmosphere, mood, or metaphor in ways that engage the senses.
