Broadway Books

Broadway Books is a locally owned, independent bookstore that has been an active member of the Northeast Portland community since 1992. Committed to bringing together authors and readers in an interactive environment, in supporting local authors, and in being a supportive member of their neighborhood, the bookstore hosts numerous author readings, literary events, book signings, and talks throughout the year.

Powell’s Books on Hawthorne

Powell’s Books on Hawthorne is a smaller, more relaxed counterpart to Powell’s City of Books flagship location. Located in the heart of Southeast Portland, Powell’s Books on Hawthorne covers more than 10,000 square feet of retail space and offers more than 200,000 used and new books. They host lively author readings several times each week in the Tabor Room, and the Kids’ Room is a popular family destination for both locals and out-of-towners.

Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing

This west side location of Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing provides an expansive setting for customers to explore over half a million used, new, and hard-to-find books across every category and genre. The bookstore also hosts popular author events, talks, and readings throughout the year.

1888 Center

1888 Center is a bookstore, gallery, nonprofit cultural center, and café located in the historic district of Old Towne Orange, California. Their bookstore hosts writing workshops, author events, and stocks its shelves with independent presses, influential storytellers, and literary journals. The nonprofit also publishes contemporary novellas, an annual anthology of international short stories, and community essays.

Aeon Bookstore

Aeon Bookshop is an independent bookseller in Manhattan specializing in literature, art, philosophy, the occult, and music. The shop carries both used and new titles and is open Wednesday through Sunday, 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Literati Bookstore

Literati Bookstore is an independent bookstore in downtown Ann Arbor. Literati aims to be a place where book lovers can go, talk, and interact with each other. They host author readings, book clubs, poetry nights, and are open seven days a week.

Big Blue Marble Bookstore

Big Blue Marble Bookstore is an independently owned bookstore located in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia that specializes in progressive and multicultural titles of interest to Philadelphians in general and Mt. Airy-ites in particular: children’s books; woman-centered pregnancy and parenting; sustainable living; queer, African-American, and Jewish studies; feminist science fiction; literary graphic novels; and more. They host readings, events, book clubs, and other groups throughout the year.

Barnes & Noble: 82nd & Broadway

This Barnes & Noble bookstore located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan features a wide selection of books and a café. It is open seven days a week: Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Bank of Books

Bank of Books is an independent, family-owned bookstore that supports the local arts community, including writers, historians, artists, and musicians. They host readings, talks and discussions, storytime, author signings, book groups, music performances, and other literary events throughout the year.
