Scattered Flock Journal is a biannual online literary magazine of speculative fiction that publishes short stories, academic articles, opinion pieces, and artwork. Founded by fantasy literature academics who wanted a barrier-free space where literary, scholarly, thoughtful, and creative pieces could be shared with the world. The team is based both in the US and UK.

Tips From the Editor
Scattered Flock is interested in short fiction that pushes boundaries within fantasy, sci-fi, and everything in between. We aim to publish stories with characters, settings, and plots that evoke something magical, surreal, and full of meaning. Take a look at our previous issues to get a sense of our editorial interests.
We also feature a select amount of essays, academic articles peer reviewed by MLitt Fantasy Literature academics, and artwork, all about the fantastic.
