Editorial Focus
Red River Review is a digital literary journal founded in 1999 and relaunched in 2025. Originally established as one of the first online poetry publications, the journal now publishes poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, hybrid work, and visual art and photography. We are drawn to thoughtful, original work that engages lived experience, place, memory, inquiry, and creative risk.
Tips From the Editor
We’re drawn to work that lingers: poems, stories, essays, and artwork that are emotionally resonant, thoughtfully crafted, and guided by clear creative intention. We welcome submissions that engage lived experience, place, memory (personal and collective), inquiry, and creative risk.
Visual and digital submissions should evoke story, atmosphere, mood, or metaphor, engaging the senses and inviting reflection rather than explanation. We welcome submissions from both emerging and established creators and are committed to a careful, editorially intentional review process.
