Ran Diego Russell and his writing are a product of wide reading but also living throughout the Rocky Mountain West and copious time spent in Japan and Central America.  In addition to teaching creative writing, composition, film, and literature in colleges, his work background includes many years on farms and ranches, in orchards and factories, and on construction sites.
