Author's Bio

I am a poet, playwright, librettist and non-fiction writer. I am best known for my method of leading creative writing workshops, described in Writing Alone & With Others, and for How the Light Gets In: Writing as a Spiritual Practice, both from Oxford University Press. I am founder/director emerita of Amherst Writers & Artists, www.amherstwriters.com, which offers trainings in my workshop method, and coordinates chapters of workshop leaders worldwide. I speak and also lead workshops and retreats. I'm a grandmother, and I am usually owned by at least one obnoxious cat. www.patschneider.com
