Author's Bio

Kristin Berger is the author of the poetry collections Refugia (Persian Pony Press, 2019), Echolocation (Cirque Press, 2018), How Light Reaches Us (Aldrich Press, 2016), and a chapbook, For the Willing (Finishing Line Press, 2008), and co-editor of VoiceCatcher 6 (2011) with Toni Partington. Her long prose-poem, Changing Woman & Changing Man: A High Desert Myth, was a finalist for the 2016 Newfound Prose Prize, and will be published in 2021/22 from Nightjar Press, with collaborative artwork by printmaker Diane Sandall. Berger's poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and the Oregon Book Award, and she has been awarded residencies from Playa at Summer Lake and The Spring Creek Project. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Kristin lives in Portland, Oregon, where she hosted a summer poetry reading series at her neighborhood farmers market, and now curates the Lents Poetry Project on Instagram.
