Author's Bio

Jo Angela Edwins has published poems in various journals including Calyx, Naugatuck River Review, Quarterday Review, Redheaded Stepchild, Adanna, Zone 3, and Whale Road Review, and in various anthologies including My Cruel Invention, Migrants and Stowaways: An Anthology of Journeys, and The Way to My Heart: An Anthology of Food-Related Romance. She is the recipient of the Carrie McCray Nickens Fellowship Poetry Prize from the South Carolina Academy of Authors, an Honorable Mention for the 2019 Winning Writers' Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest, and second prize in the 2016 Poetry Super Highway Annual Poetry Contest, for which she served as a judge in 2017. Her chapbook Play was published in 2016 by Finishing Line Press. She teaches poetry writing, literature, and composition at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. She serves as a board member on SC Humanities and the South Carolina Academy of Authors and is the poet laureate of the Pee Dee region of South Carolina.
