Author's Bio

Eugene O'Connor lives with his husband in Columbus, Ohio. After a career in academia and publishing, he retired from his position as Managing Editor and Acquiring Editor in Classics at The Ohio State University Press in 2017. He holds a BA in Latin from Canisius College (Buffalo, NY), an MA in Comparative Literature from the University of Rochester, and a Ph.D. in Classics from The University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to poetry and translations, he has published numerous scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals on classics and the classical tradition. His English translation, with introduction and notes, of Renaissance humanist Antonio Beccadelli's Hermaphroditus was published by Lexington Books in 2001.
