Author's Bio

Elisabetta La Cava is a double immigrant born in Italy, raised in Venezuela, who claimed Texas as her own. Twice foreign, she carries a family tradition of cultural interconnectedness. Her mother and grandmother survived the Russian advance into German territory at the end of WWII. Her father is the son of Italian migrants who settled in Venezuela.

She is a first-generation college graduate who received a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her work has been seen in The Pointed Circle, The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, Texas Poetry Calendar, Penultimate Peanut Magazine, The Closed Eye Open, and The Rio Review. She currently lives in Austin, Texas where she studies creative writing at Austin Community College and LOGOS Poetry Collective.
