Author's Bio

Ana María (Ía) Carbonell was born in Uruguay, grew up outside of Boston, and has lived most of her adult life in the Bay Area, where she writes and teaches. Her work has appeared in The MacGuffin, Mom Egg Review, Saranac Review, Stoneboat Literary Journal, and elsewhere. She was a finalist in the Tucson Festival of Books’ Literary Contest, a recipient of a Center for Cultural Innovation Grant, and accepted to One Story Writer's Conference. Ana María lives in Berkeley with her husband and rescue pup.
