Funding/Employment Opportunities: 

The program offers three $10,000 fellowships per year (renewable for three years); each fellowship comes with a graduate assistantship that pays an additional $9,800 and is eligible for university health benefits. Additional graduate assistantships for nonfellowship students are available. Graduate assistantship assignments include teaching, writing center tutor positions, and intern positions with the Texas Review journal and TRP: The University Press of SHSU.

Other Features: 

The program hosts the National Book Awards Festival each fall, which features events with National Book Award finalists and winners. Each summer, one student is sent to intern at the National Book Foundation in New York.
