September 23, 2026

Celebrate The New Nonfiction debut authors featured in our September/October 2026 issue with a virtual reading by all five authors followed by a conversation with senior editor India Lena González. This event was held on Wednesday, September 23, at 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT.

In the September/October 2026 issue of Poets & Writers Magazine, we introduce (clockwise from upper left) Nita Noveno, author of Mud on the Moon (Red Hen Press, August); Phill Branch, author of The Double Dutch Fuss (Amistad, June); Megan O’Grady, author of How It Feels to Be Alive: Encounters With Art and Our Selves (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, April); Joseph Trinidad, author of Lucky Creatures (Sarabande Books, June); and Elena Dudum, author of They Told Me Back Home Would Be Beautiful: A Palestinian Memoir (Atria/One Signal Publishers, October). Read essays by the debut authors as well as excerpts from their books.
