Editorial Focus
Stepping Stones Literary Magazine is a student-run publication dedicated to uplifting emerging and established writers from around the world. Originally created for the Webb Schools community, it now welcomes global submissions in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Our mission is to serve as a stepping stone for writers to share their work, gain recognition, and grow creatively. We value writing that is bold, authentic, subtle, and emotionally honest. We are drawn to pieces that take risks, explore form, and offer a clear sense of voice.
Tips From the Editor
We look for writing that brings together emotional honesty and strong craft. Let your voice be clear and confident, whether it speaks softly or with force. Feel free to experiment with form. Break a line in an unexpected place, reshape a paragraph, or let an ending stay unresolved. Do not be afraid to get a little strange or playful. We welcome pieces that move in non-linear ways. Start at the end, loop back, or pause in a moment that matters. Above all, write the piece that only you could create.
