Editorial Focus

The goal of the East on Central Association is to encourage artistic expression of the creative spirit through its journal and activities. The annual journal began with a local focus but now includes work from artists and writers throughout northern Illinois and the entire U.S. and beyond. It displays writing and full-color art, alternating in its nearly 200 pages. Oftentimes, the sequences create serendipitous, deeper reflection. Each volume includes a small “Focus on ...” section relating to a theme.

Tips From the Editor

Check out the sample poems and artwork on our website! We include mainly poetry but include 10-12 short pieces of prose in each volume, primarily memoir.
