Author's Bio

In 1995 Poet Jim Doane attended a session of a novel-writer’s workshop Jerry hosted.  Subsequently, the two established RedondoPoets.com a performing poet’s workshop which met Saturday for the six years and exists still as a weekly reading at Coffee Cartel --a 26 years span making it one of three longest running poetry venues in Los Angeles County. In the past he was an active member of Manuscripters, UCLA Writers Extension Program, Santa Barbara Writer’s Workshop, and California State Poet Society.Jerry is currently a Poetry Society of New Hampshire member, and he is listed in P&W Writers and Poets directory.  Blackout” was printed in So Luminous the Wildflowers: An anthology of California Poets.  His poetry has been printed by critical journals: Pearl, Spillway, Rattle, and California Quarterly and in UK publications. His poem Amputation without ether was printed in Creative Age II, published by Redondo Beach, and his short story The Orphaned Rose appeared in the same edition. Jerry wrote a monthly column “How to get your poetry published in California” for Poetix three years.He is the author of seven published chapbooks and had five poems in the nationally distributed anthology The other side of sorrow: Poets speak out about conflict, war, and peace.
