Author's Bio

Peter J. Stavros is a writer and playwright in Louisville, Kentucky, and the author of three short story collections--Three in the Morning and You Don't Smoke Anymore, (Mostly) True Tales From Birchmont Village, and All The Things She Says--and the novella, Tryouts. His debut novel, The Thing About My Uncle, was released on August 20, 2024 from BHC Press. A former reporter for the Associated Press, his work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, journals and anthologies, including The Saturday Evening Post, The Boston Globe Magazine and Chicken Soup for the Soul. In addition to fiction, Peter writes creative non-fiction and essays. His plays have been produced across the country, and as far away as Zambia, garnering Audience Favorite accolades at various festivals. Peter earned a BA in English from Duke University, where he received the prestigious Newman Ivey White Award for Fiction, and studied creative writing on a graduate level at Emerson College and Harvard University.
