Author's Bio

J.B. Stone (he/they) is a Neurodivergent/Autistic teaching artist, spoken word poet, amateur playwright, writer, and critic from Brooklyn, NY now residing in Buffalo, NY. They serve as Founding EIC/Reviews Editor at Variety Pack. Nominated for both the Best of the Net, Best Microfiction and the Best Small Fiction anthologies, J.B.’s writing has appeared in, The McNeese Review, The Citron Review, Atticus Review, Chicago Review of Books, The Colorado Review, Blue Earth Review, Maudlin House, Hawaii Pacific Review, among other spaces. He has won the 2024 Button Poetry Short Form Contest, was an honorable mention in Allentown Art’s Inaugural Ekphrastic Writing Contest, Semifinalist in Alien Buddha Press’s House of Horrors Showdown, and was shortlisted in CRAFT’s Inaugural Character Sketch Challenge. As a spoken word poet, J.B. has also competed in various poetry slam stages across the U.S. & Canada, including representing Buffalo, in the Southern Fried Poetry Slam Festival over the last five years. They have had the honor of featuring and showcasing, everywhere from the former President of SUNY Fredonia’s Home, to a Legendary Bar in the heart of Toronto, Ontario, to featuring at New Jeru’s poetry slam in Rahway, New Jersey, to a showcase paying homage to Walt Whitman’s Songs of Myself, live from the Burchfield Penney. They will be, as of Spring 2027, an MFA Candidate at Spalding University's Naslund School of Writing, specializing in both Poetry and Fiction.
