Jason Adam Sheets

Poet

Author's Bio

Jason Adam Sheets holds a Master of Theological Studies in Theopoetics from Harvard Divinity School. His research focuses on how theopoetic language works to shift one's consciousness into spaces of spiritual or mystical experience. In addition to his work as a scholar, Sheets' commitment to the field can be seen in his work as a poet and author. Books include A Madness of Blue Obsidian (AGP, 2022), The Hour Wasp (AGP, 2017), and Theopoetica: An Anthology (AGP, 2022). New work is forthcoming in POETRY (2024). A 2022 Pushcart Prize nominee, his writing was recently featured by Oxford University’s Research Centre in the Humanities and The Graduate Journal of Harvard Divinity School. He teaches for Harvard's Poetry in America program—in affiliation with the eponymous PBS television series and in conjunction with the National Education Equity Lab and ASU—and is a research mentor for Indigo Research. He has taught English at the University of New Hampshire and has worked as a writing and publishing mentor in AWP’s Writer to Writer mentorship program. His work has been supported by Harvard University, PEN America, and Poets & Writers Magazine. For more, visit: linktr.ee/jasonadamsheets
