Author's Bio

Jason Adam Sheets holds a Master of Theological Studies in Theopoetics from Harvard Divinity School. His research focuses on how theopoetic language works to shift one's consciousness into spaces of spiritual or mystical experience. In addition to his work as a scholar, Sheets' commitment to the field can be seen in his work as a poet and essayist. Books include V Verse Is I (forthcoming), A Madness of Blue Obsidian (AGP, 2022), The Hour Wasp (AGP, 2017), and Theopoetica: An Anthology (AGP, 2022). New poems appear in POETRY (March 2024). A Pushcart Prize nominee, his writing was recently featured in Harvard Magazine and by Oxford University’s Research Centre in the Humanities. He teaches for Harvard's Poetry in America program, in affiliation with the eponymous PBS television series and in conjunction with the National Education Equity Lab and ASU, and is also a research mentor for Indigo Research. He has taught English at the University of New Hampshire and has worked as a writing and publishing mentor for AWP’s Writer to Writer mentorship program.
