Gabriel Awuah Mainoo

Gabriel Awuah Mainoo is a Ghanaian writer; poet, editor & a lyricist. He won the 2022 Singapore Poetry Prize, 2021 Africa Haiku Prize, LFP/ RML/ Library of Africa and the African Diaspora chapbook prize, the 6th Ghana Association of Writers Literary Awards for his poetry book (Lyrical Textiles, Illuminated Press, New York) and others. Mainoo was awarded the 2022 Samira Bawumia Literature Prize (Poetry) & the 2022 West Africa Writers Residency among others. He is the Author of Travellers Gather Dust and Lust, (Mwanaka Media and Publishing, Zimbabwe), ‘‘We are Moulting Birds’’, (Light Factory Publication, Canada), ‘‘Lyrical Textiles’’ (Illuminated Press, US) & ‘‘Sea Ballet’’, forthcoming. Mainoo edits poetry for Goat Shed Press, (UK). His craft can be found in FIYAH, the London Reader, The Woodward Review (Wayne State University), Wales Haiku Journal, SUSPECT, aAH! Magazine (Manchester Metropolitan University), EVENT (Douglas College), Prairie Fire, Best New African Poets Anthologies (2018, 2019, 2020), Old Love Skin & others. He's a tennis junkie in the morning, a student in the afternoon, & a writer in the evening.
