Author's Bio

I am the author of 19 books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. I have completed three historical fiction manuscripts. I serve on the boards of the Global Listening Center, https://www.globallisteningcentre.org and a number of editorial boards for journals in the humanities. I often give lectures on college campuses in the US, Asia, Europe, and Africa. I have been a commentator on Voice of America, BBC-Africa, West Africa Democracy Radio, and cable television stations. Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Desmond Tutu, has commented on my writings. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, Gwendolyn Brooks, described my poetry as “talented,”  “verse exhibiting,” “pleasing grace,” having a “fierce urgency.”
