Author's Bio

Elisabetta LaCava is a double immigrant born in Italy, raised in Venezuela, who claimed Texas as her own. Twice foreign, she carries a family tradition of cultural interconnectedness. Her mother and grandmother survived the Russian advance into German territory at the end of WWII. Her father is the son of Italian migrants who settled in Venezuela.

She is a first-generation college graduate and an MFA candidate at Bennington Writing Seminars. Her work has appeared in Stone Canoe, The Pointed Circle, Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, Texas Poetry Calendar, and others. She currently lives in Austin, Texas.
