Author's Bio

A registered nurse with a background in Intensive Care, Oncology and Women's Health, I often write about the intersection of health and disease and about the ways in which we care for, or fail to care for, one another. The beauty and strangeness of the human body--its wonderful metaphors, its proximity to birth and death---are fundamental both to my poetry and prose. I especially enjoy helping others write about their experiences as caregivers or as patients, exploring their own fears and joys and honoring them in poems or prose.
