Author's Bio

Christine Mejukah Weeber is the author of two poetry chapbooks, In the Understory of Her Being (in English and Spanish; Finishing Line Press, 2018) and Sastrugi. Her poetry and prose have appeared in the Wild Roof Journal, the Kyoto Journal, the anthology Wild Gods: The Ecstatic in Contemporary Poetry and Prose, The Halcyone Literary Review, Solo: On Her Own Adventure, and other publications. From 2016–2025, Christine Mejukah served as the copy editor and fact-checker at SAPIENS Anthropology Magazine, a digital publication that brought anthropological insights and research to general audiences. In 2020, she launched the poetry wing at the magazine, featuring anthropological poems from around the globe, mentoring poets-in-residence, and co-editing themed poetry collections. Christine Mejukah has an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology and a graduate certificate in Women's Studies from Colorado State University, and a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Calvin College.
