Author's Bio

Brian Tierney was born in Morristown, NJ, and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His poetry and prose have appeared in or are forthcoming in: Kenyon Review, AGNI, Gettysburg Review, NER, Copper Nickel, and others. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, and a graduate of the Bennington College MFA Writing Seminars, he was named among Narrative’s “30 Below 30” emerging writers for 2013, and has been a finalist Frontier Poetry's Industry Prize, The Four Way Books Levis Prize, and The National Poetry Series. He currently lives in Oakland, Ca., where he teaches poetry at The Writing Salon.
