Author's Bio

Bill Ratner is a Poets & Writers Readings and Workshops Grant recipient, 9-time winner of The Moth StorySLAM, 2-time winner of Best of The Hollywood Fringe Extension Award for Solo Performance, and one of America's best known voice actors—"Flint" in the cartoon G.I. Joe, "Donnell Udina" in the game Mass Effect, etc. His poetry and essays are published in Best Small Fictions 2021-Sonder Press, full-length poetry collections: Lamenting While Doing Laps in the Lake-Slow Lightning Press, and Fear of Fish-Alien Buddha Press, poetry chapbook: To Decorate a Casket-Finishing Line Press. Publications: Chiron Review, Baltimore Review, Missouri Review Audio, Rattle Magazine’s Rattlecast Open Mic, Moon Tide Press’ Sh!t Men Say to Me, FeminineCollective.com, and other journals. Bill’s readings are featured on National Public Radio’s Good Food, The Business, and KCRW’s Strangers. He is the author of Parenting for the Digital Age: The Truth About Media’s Effect on Children from Familius Books, a volunteer grief counsellor, and he teaches poetry and storytelling for the Los Angeles School District, and Voiceover for the Screen Actors Guild-AFTRA Foundation.
