Author's Bio

Bettina Rolyn studied politics at Claremont McKenna College (BA) and served in the US Army from 2003-2007, later earning a Master’s in Persian Language and Culture. After quitting a career in the defense industry, she studied theology in Stuttgart and then pursued her MFA in Creative Non-Fiction at Carlow University, Pittsburgh. Her creative writing has appeared in various places including Human Parts, The War Horse, and Stadtsprachen Magazin. She has written a memoir about her experiences in the US Army, and is working on a book of essays about migration, identity and the consequences of conflict. She lives and works in Berlin.
