Author's Bio

Megan Harlan is a creative nonfiction writer and poet. Her memoir essays have recently appeared or are forthcoming in AGNI, Colorado Review, Alaska Quarterly Review (which nominated her essay for a Pushcart Prize), Superstition Review, Catamaran, Under the Sun, and The Common. Her first book of poems, MAPMAKING, won the John Ciardi Prize for Poetry and was published by the University of Missouri's BkMk Press/New Letters (2010). Her poetry has appeared in AGNI Online, American Poetry Review, Crazyhorse, Poetry Daily, Hotel Amerika, Prairie Schooner, TriQuarterly, and Verse Daily, among other journals, and on PBS Newshour's Poetry Series website. Megan's fiction has appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, Cimarron Review, Meridian, Painted Bride Quarterly, and Sycamore Review. She holds a master's degree from New York University's Creative Writing Program and a B.A. in English from Tufts University.
