Funding/Employment Opportunities: 

The program offers partial funding. Limited partial funding is available through teaching assistantships in the Writing Center and teaching fellowships in the First Year Writing Program; both positions include a stipend and tuition remission for two courses. Research assistantships that include a stipend are occasionally available. The program also awards annual $5,000 scholarships.

The program offers students a cross-genre option, which they may pursue through courses in fiction and poetry and by writing a cross-genre or hybrid master's thesis in fulfillment of the MFA degree. 

The program hosts visiting writers, guest lectures, readings, publishing panels, and intensive workshops with guest artists.
