As you chart your own literary education, Poets & Writers resources abound to help you on your way:
If You’re Teaching Yourself
A self-made education doesn’t mean having to go it alone. Poets & Writers offers online classes to develop your skills, put you in conversation with literary luminaries, and understand the business of publishing. (A limited number of fee waivers are available.) Also consider Poets & Writers Guides, downloadable PDFs with up-to-date advice on topics including literary agents, writing contests, and the book deal.
If You’re Considering an MFA
The Poets & Writers MFA Programs database lists low- and full-residency MFA programs in the United States and English-language programs abroad. Search by keyword, or sort by location, size, and type to find options that might work for you.
If You’d Like to Learn With Peers
Poets & Writers Groups offers a virtual platform for connecting to fellow writers and finding (or starting!) the writers group of your dreams. Join a workshop, find an accountability partner, form an MFA application discussion group, and more—the possibilities for groups are endless.
