Maya Angelou Book Award

$10,000

A prize of $10,000 will be given in alternating years for a poetry collection or a novel by an author whose work “has demonstrated a commitment to social justice in America and/or the world.” This year the award will be given for a book of fiction. The winner will also participate in a two-week reading tour (either in-person or virtually, as public health allows) of Missouri colleges, universities, and libraries. Submit a novel published in 2021 or 2022 by February 1. There is no entry fee. Visit the website for the required entry form and complete guidelines.
