Massachusetts Center for the Book

Three awards of $1,000 each will be given annually for a poetry collection, book of fiction, and a book of nonfiction written by a current Massachusetts resident and published in the current year. Additionally, an award of $1,000 is given in alternating years for a graphic novel or memoir, or a book of translation written, translated, or illustrated by a current Massachusetts resident and published in the last two years. In 2026, the award will be given for a graphic novel or graphic memoir. Any individual, organization, or company may submit via mail two copies of a poetry collection, book of fiction, or book of nonfiction published in the calendar year or two copies of a graphic novel or graphic memoir published in 2025 or 2026 by December 15.
