Hosting literary events throughout the year, Subterranean Books is dedicated to bringing in the most amazing local and national writers, across genres. They host readings, signings, and book release parties, all to the delight of their customers—both brand-new and already dedicated.

Harvard Book Store is a unique and special place to shop—a locally owned, independently run Cambridge landmark since 1932. It is known for its extraordinary selection of new, used, and remainders, a popular author event series, and a history of innovation—including local bike delivery and a book-making robot (capable of printing and binding any of millions of titles in minutes). On their website, customers can browse the shelves, staff recommendations, and the author events calendar.

This bookstore-bar-venue is the result of ten years of friendship between two Spanish civil engineers, Javier García del Moral and Paco Vique. They always wished for a space that could mix two of their passions: books and booze. After a lot of enthusiastic talk over the years, they were able to make that conversation actually happen and so The Wild Detectives opened its doors for the first time on the last day of February 2014.
Since then they have programmed over three hundred literary/cultural events and sold–arguably–as many books as beers.

Founded in 1959 by Moe Moskowitz and his wife, Barbara, Moe’s Books has become a beloved Berkeley institution and an emblem of the Beatnik era. Situated just four blocks from the University of California campus, this bookstore hosts a very active reading series and an array of literary events throughout the year.

Broadway Book Mall is an independent bookstore, run by the former owners of the Denver Book Mall, in its current location on South Broadway since 2009. The bookstore hosts frequent author talks and signings, literary readings, and other local community events throughout the year.

Open Books at the Literacenter features more than fifty thousand books in dozens of genres, a dedicated youth section, comfy lounges, and more, all to support their literacy programs in Chicago. With a full calendar of literary events, Open Books hosts poetry readings, talks, and book signings.

Kilgore Books opened its doors in 2008 and has used and new books with a rotating selection of literature, sci-fi/fantasy, philosophy, science, history, as well as comics. The shop also holds weekly events, including author signings, discussions with cartoonists, workshops, and book parties.

Established in 1979, the Trident Booksellers and Café has used and new books, with an emphasis on art, religion, and culture, as well as poetry and literature. Trident hosts readings and other literary and community events throughout the year.

Napa Bookmine opened its doors in downtown Napa on Friday the 13th, September 2013. They have since grown to hold over 25,000 books—used and new—and feature a year-round calendar of community events including author events, book clubs, game nights, and more! It is their hope to provide a welcoming, safe, inspiring place for their community to gather and celebrate the love of books.
