We want authors compelled to write by the significance of their own experience and questions. Our writers have things they can't keep quiet about.
We believe that significant writers work very hard whatever their circumstances and whatever their educations. Upper Hand is not prejudiced in favor of authors with credentials in writing.
We are eclectic and personal in approach. We do not automatically exclude topics and voices that we haven't encountered before.
Tips From the Editor
Individuals may query before submitting if desired. We do not work with literary agents.
We hope that the nominal $10 fee and exclusive submission policy will help writers choose us for a reason as careful as the attention we will pay to your submission. Our small size leads us to value well-focused submissions.
Books by author-illustrators must be unique and of extraordinary creativity.
Submit with focused ideas about the readership for your book.
