Editorial Focus

Sheila-Na-Gig Editions supports the work of both established and emerging poets and fiction writers through the publication of poetry chapbooks and poetry collections, and occasional short story anthologies. The editors are partial to free verse poetry and literary short fiction, but they will not reject poetry in forms or genre fiction outright.

Tips From the Editor

Our First Chapbook Contest runs yearly (in July), and our open call for full-length poetry collections runs about every other year. Look for our next call for full-length poetry collections in summer 2027 for publications in 2028. Before you enter our yearly chapbook contest for poetry, familiarize yourself with the work of Sheila-Na-Gig online. Winning chapbooks often have a similar aesthetic.

Our second fiction anthology was published in winter 2024. Keep an eye on the website for new calls for fiction for future anthologies. These are sporadic.
