Editorial Focus

Settlement House Books is an independent,501(c)(3) nonprofit book publisher founded in 2007. We take our name from the settlement houses of the late 19th and 20th centuries that provided community through their social and cultural support and services to the urban poor and immigrant populations. We think of ourselves as a home for some of the fine—and frequently disparate—poetic voices deserving of readership but often ignored in publishing today.
