Editorial Focus

NightBallet Press is a small, independent press interested in the musicality of language and the originality of expression, with a commitment to excellence. Our books are archived in the Ohioana Library and the Lockwood Memorial Library at the University of Buffalo, and have been on display at the Poets House in NYC.

Tips From the Editor

At this time, due to time constraints, manuscripts are by invitation only, but queries about submitting possible manuscripts are allowed. Chapbook manuscripts should be between 15 and 35 pages of poetry (approximately). Although we do publish longer collections, shorter manuscripts have a better chance of being accepted. The role of the poet in actively marketing his/her book is essential. Before selecting manuscripts for publication, the editor will do a search to see if there is an online presence, and whether the poet is doing readings to expose and promote their work. Well-written queries are also essential. Thank you for considering NightBallet Press for your work.
