Editorial Focus

Deerbrook Editions publishes well designed trade books. Interested in imaginative and experimental literature, whether poetry or fiction, Deerbroook is a small press developing to do more of what we do leading to discovery of authors books. Our mission is to provide literature that is relevant and stimulating, to advocate and support authors by giving them a wider audience, and to connect authors and artists with their community. Deerbrook is a Fiscally Sponsored Project of Fractured Atlas.

Tips From the Editor

Due to on hand MS, submissions are suspened indefinitely.

Authors can send hard copy manuscripts printed on regular 8.5 x 11 paper. Please do not send your only copy as we will not return rejected manuscripts. Please enclose an SASE or postcard for acknowledgment of receipt. We recommend an organized collection of poems, essays, short stories or a novella of 40 to 70 pages. Most of our books are under 100 pages, including front and back matter. The smallest perfect bound trade paper book is approximately 45 pages. Manuscripts that exceed 100 pages will have to be exceptional, especially fiction and non fiction. The manuscript should include publication credits and any relevant biographical information. For fiction, a synopsis is helpful.
