Editorial Focus

Bateau Press is the publisher for its annual Boom Chapbook Contest and Keel Short Short Fiction Chapbook Contest. Our chapbooks are of the highest quality, well-designed, letterpress covers, hand stitched, and detail-oriented. We look for manuscripts that are strong based solely on the work itself—no themes, games, niches, or elaborate construction structures. Just good writing. We are also an environmental conscious publisher.

Tips From the Editor

We only accept poetry for the Boom Contest and flash fiction for the Keel Contest. Both contest alternate on a yearly basis. We will run the Boom Contest in the fall of 2016. Submission Dates: Aug 15-Nov 30.
