Rockvale Writers’ Colony

The Rockvale Writers’ Colony offers three-day themed retreats, one- to three-night mini-residencies, and one- to four-week residencies between January and November to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators on 65 acres of farmland in College Grove, Tennessee, approximately 40 miles south of Nashville. Residents are provided with a private room, bathroom, and writing desk, as well as access to a shared farmhouse kitchen, dining room, library, and outdoor swimming pool. The property also features common areas, including porches, gardens, and hiking trails. The cost of the themed writing retreats focused on craft or meditative practices is $455 and includes five meals. The cost of the mini-residencies is $100 per night for farmhouse rooms and $115 per night for the Ogilvie Granary. The cost of the residencies is $480 per week for cabin rooms and $540 for the Ogilvie Granary. To apply, submit five pages of poetry or prose, a brief bio, and a project description with a $30 application fee. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
